An institutional site migrated from Webflow to a custom Next.js build. It solves getting a first-time visitor to know when and where to go with no friction, and lets them contact the church without a phone call.

Analysis / Modeling

Operating cost as a design constraint: the site runs on about $12/year — just the domain renewal — with Vercel and Resend on free tiers and content in code. It's the 80/20 applied to the infrastructure of an organization with no software budget. Also: ISR with tag-based revalidation plus a weekly cron for YouTube sermons, and honest fallbacks instead of fabricated content when the API doesn't respond.

  • 107 commits and 40 PRs, all opened and merged by her, zero reviewers across the whole history. The client contributes content — schedules, staff roster, photos — never technical approval.
